Bands to see at Oxegen 2008
I think most music fans will be in agreement with me, that the line up released so far this year for the festival is fucking amazing. If like me your planing on heading down to Nass, here are the bands that I’d recommend you go and see.
Friday
Battles
This NYC band released one of the most original albums of the last couple of years, and any one who saw them when they played live in Dublin last year had noting but positive things to say. One of the things they do live is play the guitar parts through piano and vice versa.
Atlas Live
Interpol

It’s extremely likely that they will be clashing with Kings Of Leon, so if you saw Kings Of Leon Live last year, then I would recommended that you check these guys out, as they are mesmerising live.
kings of Leon

If you saw Interpol last December, then go see these guys.
On Call Live
Saturday
Seasick Steve

This mustached blues man played on Jules Hollands New Years Eve show, and it was quite simply stunning.
Cut My Wings Live
The Prodigy

What better way to bring the second day of the festival to end, then dancing like to a loon to dance flour classics such as Breath, Smack My Bitch Up and Poison? Also they are an explosive live act that if you haven’t seen them live, here’s a golden opportunity.
Smack My Bitch Up Live
Sunday
Rage Against The Machine

This legendary funk metal band should still be able to kick a serious amount of ass live. It will be spine tingling to hear a 50 or so thousand people screaming Fuck you I wont do what you tell at the top of their lungs.
Killing in The Name Of Live
The Pogues

It is quite frankly a stroke of genius on the organisers part to Shane and the boys to play this, it should be like a mini riot when fiesta is played, though it would be quite surreal if they play Fairytale Of New York in the middle of July! this has the potential to be the performance of the festival, this all hang on if Shane has his shit together, he did at the RDS Christmas gig, and it was amazing.
Fiesta Live
Alabama 3

Saw these guys play at the electric picnic in 2006, and they were really, really cool, and will be checking them out again as should you.
